Overview of the Tour
You can choose this package of tour if you want to experience Gobi Desert in a short time. The Gobi Desert is a large desert area in Southern Mongolia. The word Gobi means ‘very large and dry’ in Mongolian, hence the name. The Nemegt Basin in the northwestern part of the Gobi Desert is famous for its dinosaur fossil treasures and is known to be a veritable dinosaur graveyard. The Gobi is most notable in history as part of the great Mongol Empire, and as the location of several important cities along the Silk Road. The Gobi measures over 1600 km from southwest to northeast and 800 km from north to south. The animals currently inhabiting the Gobi Desert are well-adapted to survive in the extreme desert climate. Some of the iconic species living in the Gobi Desert are the snow leopard, black-tailed gazelle, Gobi viper, jerboa, Gobi bear, Gobi ibex, wild Bactrian camel, and more.
