Overview of the Tour
One of the iconic tour package of Mongolia is West and North route that includes rivers, lakes, wide steppe and desert in the mountainous area through Orkhon Valley, Otgontenger Mountain and Khuvsgul Lake. Otgontenger is the highest peak in the Khangai Mountains in Mongolia. Its summit is currently calculated to reach an elevation of 4,008 meters above mean sea level. The mountain is located in Zavkhan Province and is the only peak in the Khangai range that is capped with a permanent glacier. In Khuvsgul region, there are many ethnics group in Mongolia and one of them are living in Khuvsgul province, Tsaatan (Reindeer herders). These reindeer herders are getting lots of attraction from domestic and international visitors due to their unique and unchanged way of life. You have an opportunity to experience their life style through this tour.

- Day 1. Arrival in Ulaanbaatar.
Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia. You’ll be greeted at the airport and accompanied to 4* hotel. If you arrive earlier here, we will take a city tour to some historic and cultural place where you will see the face of ancient and modern Mongolia. You may choose an optional city tour before enjoying an evening concert of National Folklore. Overnight in the hotel. (L+D)
- Day 2. Khugnu Tarna National Park
It is an amazing landscape where there were sand dunes, trees, Rocky Mountains, grass land, and even a mineral water sources all in one location. The scenery is spectacular combination of desert, picturesque mountain, river and green grassland.
- Day 3. Kharkohrin, Erdenezuu, Okhon Valley
Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape is one of only four UNESCO registered heritage sites in Mongolia. The Orkhon Valley is a must visit for tourists to experience the nomadic and lush greenland of Mongolia. Karakhorum was ancient capital of Great Mongol Empire in XIII century till Kublai khaan, grandson of Chinggis khaan moved it to current Beijing, China. Visiting Karakorum feels like a pilgrimage when visiting Mongolia. The Mongolian empire stretched further than any empire in the history of civilization, and its centerpiece and capital was Karakorum.
- Day 4. Khorgo, Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National park
This National Park has two natural wonders- Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan ( also known as the Great White Lake) and the extinct Khorgo Volcano. The lake is beautiful. It’s huge, stretching into the horizon, its waters taking in the changing colours of the sky. There are small hikes nearby. One can go horse-riding, stroll around or just sit by the shores and gaze at the serene waters.
- Day 5. Otgontenger Mountain

- Day 6. Tarvagatai National Park
The Tarvagatai range branches off from the Khangai Nuuru and encloses a diverse wilderness environment of steppes, forested valleys, mountains, lakes and deserts.
- Day 7. Telmen Lake
Angirt is a beautiful small lake located on the junction of the Gobi desert and forest steppe. On the south of the lake, there is a sand mountain neighboring seven small sand dunes in its east. Charming magnolia flower grows on the top the two sand dunes. Angirt lake is home to water birds.
- Day 8. Murun Town
Murun is the administrative center of Khuvsgul l Aimag in northern Mongolia. Before 1933, Khatgal had been the Aimag capital. Although a poorly developed town, Murun has a hospital, a museum, a theatre, a post office, several schools and kindergartens, like any other provincial capitals of Mongolia.
- Day 9. Khuvsgul Lake
The lake is magnificent and one of the world’s great natural wonders. It can be easily your favorite place in the northern Mongolia. The water is crystal clear so that you can see the bottom of the lake about a mile below. It is 1,645 metres (5,397 feet) above sea level, 136 kilometres (85 miles) long and 262 metres (860 feet) deep. There is so much to do in this park – take a boat cruise to see the birds on an island, horseback riding, kayaking and canoeing, birdwatching or checking of the wildflowers in bloom. Don’t miss the sunset, it’s beautiful.
- Day 10. Uran Crater
The Uran Togoo – Tulga Uul Natural Monument is a national protected area in the Bulgan Province of Mongolia. It is located about 60 km directly west of Bulgan city around the extinct volcanoes Uran Togoo, Tulga, Togoo, and Jalavch Uul.
- Day 11. Amarbayasgalant Monastry
Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat, Vatican, Jerusalem, Machu Picchu, Lhasa, Pagan – of all the greatest spiritual centers on earth, there is none today more authentic, purer, nor more spiritual than Amarbaysagalant. This monastery is about 350 km from Ulaanbaatar but is worth the trip.
- Day 12. Return to Ulaanbaatar via Terelj National Park & Chinggis Statue Complex
Terelj gives just a glimpse into the scenic majesty of Mongolia. You can hike up hills, or galloping on horses with a nomadic locals under the eternal blue sky. Chinggis Khaan Statue complex is an incredible piece of engineering and the largest statue on a horse in the world. The statue is beautifully done and surrounded by the mountains makes it a picture-perfect place.
- Day 13. City Tour & departure
You may choose an optional city tour where you will be taken to souvenir and cashmere shops before leaving for your home soil.
